The outside seating area was covered with grass which took a huge pounding due the excessive pedestrian traffic. The grass struggled to recover, resulting in a patchy, visually unappealing surface in Summer and a muddy mess in winter.

The turf was removed, a new sub base and surface was installed and covered with resin bound aggregate. The upgraded surface is attractive as well as hard-wearing and semi-porous, so guests can enjoy a glass of award-winning wine without getting their shoes wet.
